I was born in Chester SC on July 13, 1945, daughter of JB McDowell and Mary Frances Wilkes McDowell Dems. My father was the son of William Edward and Lydia Bailey McDowell of Chester County, born February 17, 1920 and died January 12, 2011. He is buried at Chester Memorial Gardens, Chester SC. My mother was the daughter of Paul Hayne and Lulah Reid Wilkes, both of Chester SC, born November 28, 1921 and died September 6, 2001 in Medford OR where she was living with my sister, Jane Hardin Tidmore. My mother is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in the city of Chester SC in her parents plot along with sisters and a brother, brother-in-law, and an infant great grand child of Hayne & Lulah Wilkes.
