I found this site while working on my family tree. My parents had spent a lot of time in the 1970's researching our ancestors, and I've taken their records and added to them. Both sides of my family(Fonville and Satterfield, Motley & Johnston) are from North Carolina, where I have lived all my life, and date back to before the American Revolution. I was searching for my grandparent's family cemetery when I discovered Find a Grave. I began adding family members and their information. Many of the pictures that I've added are of relatives that I knew from my childhood or photographs that my parents had labeled. I continue to search for various branches and will add information as I get it.
