Cemeteries are peaceful places. I pull over whenever I see a small, old cemetery, perhaps a family plot of 6 or so graves, surrounded by an old cast iron fence. Once in Vermont I saw a family plot of 6 children who all died within 21 days of one another, with the father following 6 months later, leaving the mother to live with only a newborn child. It's likely the only way these stories are now known are through their graves.

I think this is a brilliant site. I am immensely grateful to those who have mapped so many of my family members' graves and thereby help me tell, or remember, their stories.
