I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with degrees in History and English. I taught school for 21 years and started with gravestone conservation over five years ago. I was trained by Jon Appell of gravestoneconservation.com at the Campbell Center in IL. I follow the National Park Service guidelines for conservation, and am a member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and the Association of Gravestone Studies (AGS). I will give suggestions for conservation of any stone, relating the 'best practices' known at the time.
