EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT A PAST RELATIVE

Family gathering no matter how small or large is the perfect time to record history and take pictures to mark the occasion. Who does not like looking at old pictures...

As a child I remember this cemetery, located in a field near our house, it had a big cedar tree in the middle of it which offered dense shade. It was always a peaceful and calming place when I went visiting the "family".

I started looking for my paternal side in 2005. During this search I found myself following people that may or may not be family but I enjoyed the discovery and some of these discoveries I have shared on this very website.

On my journey of photographing requests and photographing cemeteries that were not on this site yet, I found peace and purpose...

I am working on two African-American cemeteries:

Ellis Creek Baptist Church Cemetery
2159 Coles Ferry Road
Nathalie Virginia

Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery

and contributions to:

Rosebud Baptist Church Cemetery
Mount Zion AME Zion Church Cemetery

and two large cemeteries which the residents are of multiple races:
Mount Olivet Cemetery
Maury Cemetery

We should all be willing to help each other in finding family and friends, whether near or far because the person that you may end up helping is yourself.

Happy Discovering!

It is appreciated far and wide...thank you findagrave family!
