I'm a 67 year old retired furniture guy and I have been playing the genealogy game since April 2009. I've built a sizable tree on Ancestry.com and besides learning a great deal about my family, I have connected with several close cousins and other distant but still important ones.
There have also been discoveries of many facinating people such as 3 Civil war Great Grand Uncles who fought on the Confederate side and a 4th, who may have served with the Union!
A connection to William Shakespeare thru two Webb family sisters really surprised me. Many other hints abound which I'll check out. I generally investigate during the winter and not so much the rest of the year. I really enjoy it!
