I have been interested in family history for a long time. I always loved it when the little old wooden tool chest was brought out by my grandmother because it was full of family photographs, many dating back over a hundred years! I would ask about the people in those photos, but didn't have the good sense to write down what she told me, although my grandmother had written on the back of most of those photos who the people were. Nor did I write down the precious few stories she told about her family. Well, my grandmother has been gone nearly 35 years now, and I'm trying to piece together those old photos and the stories, but my memory has gotten faded. I feel an urgent need to preserve the old photos, research and set down the stories and honor the lives of my ancestors.
