Bio

I am 54 and have been dabbling in my genealogy for over 30 years. We have many walls...but thanks to DNA projects they are quickly being tore down.
I've done my mother's side of the family but the Carroll, Lawson, Campbell, Lee, Humbard, McDonald, Van Horn, Haynes, Baker and other lines are the toughest.
My lines were in East TN (where I grew up), KY, MO, AL, TX and more.
I work most of my days on the Carroll's & the Lawson's.
I descend from Elizabeth Jane Lawson and James A Carroll. They were married in McMinn County, TN in 1849 and had 12 children. Betsy Jane Lawson descends from Richard Lawson and Mary Campbell who married in TN in 1815. Richard and Mary were in Kentucky for a few years before they went to McMinn County. Richard Lawson died in Bradley County, TN in 1852 and Mary went to live with her daughter Matilda Lawson Ellis in Missouri and she is buried there.
Looking for Carroll lines to do YDNA. Our Haplogroup is I-P37... no we are not related to William Carroll of TN Governor nor the Maryland signers of the Declaration of Independence :(
If you have found this bio and have one of these surnames; I urge you to do the Family Finder DNA test. We descend from Drury Lawson and Hannah Potts...(that's where my DNA is matching). Thanks!
