I was raised in the Stone Bank area. He was baptized by Rev Byron Nelson. In the same church he received his Sunday School instruction and was confirmed by Rev I A Lavik.
He attended Mapleton and Pleasant View Elementary school and graduated from Oconomowoc High School. Graduated from Waldorf College, Forest City, IA and Concordia College, Moorhead, MN with a BA in History and Philosophy in 1962, cum laude. Graduated from Luther Theological Seminary, St Paul, MN with a BD in Theology in 1966. He served his year of internship at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lemmep-Martinsdale, MT under Rev John V Gronli. He served the American Lutheran Church as a missionary pastor in Ethiopia, East Africa 1966-1972. Upon return to the States he served a parish in Sunburst MT 1972-1977. Spent 8 months in Madagascar. Served the parish in Erskine MN 1978-1982. Served as pastor for Christ Lutheran in Whitefish MT 1982-1990. Served as pastor in Tolna-Warwick ND 1990-1997. Serves as pastor at First Lutheran Glenville MN 1997 and in December 2000 he moved to Parshall ND, to serve the AALC Lutheran Parish there.
Harold was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity by the Beta Lambda Chapter on April 30, 1959 while he was a student at Waldorf College, Forest City, IA. He was inducted into the National Social Sciences Honor Society Pi Gamma Mu on April 1, 1962 While attending Concordia College Moorhead.
