As a so-called "Graver," I find cemeteries to be peaceful parks full of interesting stories and history. I currently manage over 800 memorials largely because an early pioneer of this site named Doc Smith transferred the hundreds of memorials he himself created when this site was in its infancy. Most of his work was based solely on what he found on grave markers; without the early work of volunteers like him this site would not exist or be the resource it is today. In his failing health he transferred the management of all the memorials he created to me and I am honored to steward them along.
