Bio

I became involved in family history in 1984 when I did my first oral/video history interview for my father-in-law who passed away 4 years later. As a child and teen I often remember my parents and aunts discussing genealogy although i wasn't very interested at the time. In May of 2009, the genealogy bug bit me when I decided to go to the gravestones of my ancestors on my dads side of the family on memorial day and write down their names, birth and death dates, then transcribing that information to a computerized family tree. As I went through this exercise and learned more about their histories, I felt a strong kinship with them and appreciation for them. I find family history to be joyful and rewarding and since then have helped a few others to learn to search out their family history roots as well. The journey has only just begun.
