Raised in Provo, Utah. Parents: Ned C. Carter and Melba Edwards. Married Richard Thomas Atkin, Septemeber 1969. We have 8 children and 21 grandchildren. We have lived in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. While in Arizona I was elected to the House of Representatives (2000-2002), then moved to Arizona in 2003. I am active in local politics and Legislative District 21 and also serve on the United Families Arizona Executive Board. I am a LDS Family Services Agency Representative. My husband and I are currently serving a mission at the Mesa Regional Family History Center.
