I am a "Retired Army Wife" with four children and seven grandchildren.
I enjoy gardening, photography and genealogy.

I am very proud of my ancestors' military service. They served in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, WWI and WWII, in the army and navy.

My husband served in the US Army in Vietnam. He served over 22 years and retired from the U.S. Army.

Some of my ancestors include:
Chatfield, Piatt, Hurtt, Knight, Wren, Garling, Long, Keagan, Barnett, Cooke, McCullough, McCoy, Van der Vliet, Watkins, Marmon, Lambert, Robison, Rowell, Johnson, Heare and Kaus.

My husband's family (so far):
Montei, Stewart, Fowler, Gasser, and Tuttle.

My ancestors' religions have included Huguenot, Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, German Reformed, Dutch Reformed, Quaker and Puritan.
They were French, Scots, Irish, English, German and Dutch.
My goal with Find A Grave is to LINK each ancestral generation, children with parents, until they have been LINKED to the first generation to step foot onto United States soil.
With the help of those who maintain the memorials of my remote ancestors, I feel my goal of linking will be accomplished.

Dear Ancestor:
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
So many years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
