Born in Johnstown, Colorado to Cecil D. Shern and E. Helen Lambert. Raised in Berthoud and johnstown, Colorado. Graduated from Johnstown High School.
Married Gary Jeffers from Windsor. We lived on a farm south of Windsor,Colorado until 1979 when we moved to Greeley, Colorado. We adopted four children. We lived in Greeley until 2004 when we moved to Clearfield, Utah to be near some of our grandchildren. Gary worked in heavy construction for about 10 years, then worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints until his retirement. Marilee sold Magic Mill wheat grinders and Bosch bread mixers for years. She also worked as interpreter for the deaf at the Lab School in Greeley. She is a dyed in the wool genealogist.
