DO NOT transfer any memorial that I have NOT requested when I am only asking for an edit. If the memorial is transferred to me, I will respectfully return it back to you.

Please do not list any bio info in Virtual Flowers and Note section.

An edit correction would be appreciated with this documentation and source which I will gladly add. Without documentation, an edit correction will be denied. "Genealogy without documentation is Mythology" --Olive Tree

Permission to use any of my photos of headstones is hereby granted to anyone desiring to use them for non-commercial, non-business, and not-for-profit purposes only.

If a memorial I have created is not a direct relative of mine or my husband's, I will be pleased to turn over ownership to a family member.

EGYPT LOWER CEMETERY: The memorials I created in 2012 in this cemetery were updated in 2023. Bios have been added with the information found in Lower Cemetery Book. Typos have been found in the reference books listed below that were used. I cross-referenced with info from marriages, baptisms and burials from Egypt Church records and made corrections when found. I also used History of Lehigh County 1914.

In 2012, I originally created the memorials from the book Egypt Union Church, Egypt, PA, Old Cemetery; Ref# 284.1, LEHI, EGYPT, BURIALS. Title Page: Tombstone Inscriptions, Old Cemetery, Egypt Union Church, Egypt, Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, PA; August 25, 1969, by Charles F. Seng.

"Preface: This list of Tombstone Inscriptions were copied from the old cemetery of the Egypt Union Church, located in Egypt, Whitehall Twsp., Lehigh Co. Pa. The rows were counted from west to east (front to back) and the inscriptions were copied from north to south (left to right)."

The rows from his book were used as my guide when taking the pictures as some of the headstones were illegible or missing. These rows are different from the Lower Cemetery Book. There is anywhere from 2 to 5 row difference between them. The rows were updated from 2012 using the book: Egypt Church Cemetery, Egypt, PA - Lower Cemetery; Ref #284.1, LEHI, EGYPT, BURIALS, 1991; indexed by Catharine Brandmeir and arranged by Leonard Shupp.

The "Lower Cemetery" does have more burials than what are included in Mr. Seng's book. His book records those that had headstones present in 1969. The "Lower Cemetery" and "Old Cemetery" are one and the same, and located right behind the church.

There is another section referred to as the "New Cemetery" which is accessed from Route 329 with its own book.

All three books are available at the Lehigh County Historical Society.

From the Egypt Lower Cemetery Book, no page number:
Oldest Stone: John Nicholaus Meier, Died Apr. 21, 1775.
