Bio

I have been doing this since Feb 2011, and it is amazing how one can get so focused on the past and totally get carried away. Depending on who I am researching at the time, sometimes I feel like I am right there in that time zone and feeling their presence. Weird huh!!!!

I am kicking myself for not asking more questions when I was younger and all the history was still alive to answer the questions.

The Son of Mildred Louise (Knight) Parrish (1920-2009) and Martin Hamilton "Bill" McGimpsey (1910 – 1968).

Louise is the daughter of Augustine "Gus" Hahn Knight (1887–1967) & Vivian Luella Evans (1897–1988)

Augustine "Gus" Hahn Knight is the son of Nathan Francis Knight (1838–1919) & Maria Louisa Carlton (1848–1937)

Vivan Evans Knight is the daughter of William H Evans b.1860 & Nancy A Evans b.1871

My father is Martin Hamilton "Bill" McGimpsey (1910 – 1968) is the son of:
Henry James McGimpsey 1829 – 1907
Elizabeth "Eliza" "Liza" Hamilton 1829 – 1866

Emmett Parrish was my step-dad and is the Son of Benjamin "Ben" Harrison (Parish) Parrish (1889–1949) & Judie Jude Juda Judy Lee McGuire (1889–1964)

(NOTE) Depending on who wrote the names down, Parrish was spelled both ways, with one R and with two Rs. Also as PErish & PErrish as well.

Also note, Jude's name was spelled as Judie, Jude, Juda and Judy again, depending on who wrote the name down as well as what mood she was in that day. She was also "older" than Ben and didn't want anyone to know it!

I went to Stoutland School, Stoutland, Camden, Missouri, USA, from 1953 to 1963 and then moved to Independence/Kansas City Missouri area and attended Truman High School.

If anyone wants a memorial transferred to them, please let me know because as a relative or close friend can always do a much better memorial than someone not related. I try to do the best I can with each memorial and that is what takes me so long, the research.

Also please note, You may use any of the pictures I upload to Find A Grave as long as they are used respectful. I upload them to share with the family's and friends and I am happy when you can find them useful. I just ask that you please acknowledge who took the picture, whether it is one I took or someone else has taken.

Note: when taking and posting pictures of headstones, please make sure you get a good picture, they deserve it. If you can hardly read it, no one else can read it as well. Everyone will thank you!
