Bio

My great great grandfather, Elisha (Elijah) Ewing and his wife Sybia Trammel Ewing were among the first settlers in Franklin County, IL, approx. 1814. Elisha was the first elected state representative for Franklin County when Illinois became a state in 1818. The Ewings are related to just about everyone in Franklin and some in Williamson and Jefferson counties as well. If you are related to this family, feel free to contact me. I have a database of over 2,000 names and growing.

I also have recently been researching my maternal grandfather's family. Arch Rutherford McDaniel was from Oxly, MO and also lived in Cairo, IL. He then lived in Lubbock, TX near his family in Petersburg, TX. From there he moved on to who knows where, as he was a traveling salesman. But I am hot on his trail and shall track him down!
