Bio

I am a happily married 23-year-old and a 2009 graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Upon graduating from college, I obtained a position in the Minnesota Reading Corps, which is a division of the AmeriCorps program. During this past school year, I have been in a Head Start classroom helping to ensure that 17 three-year-olds have the pre-literacy skills that they need to be able to be successful readers by the time that they reach third grade. For my position, I am required to fulfill 1700 hours between August 9th, 2009 and July 31st, 2010. I am still working towards meeting that requirement and the Head Start is now closed for the summer, which means, I had to find new ways to volunteer my time over the summer. My mother stumbled open the information that the Bethania cemetery's records were outdated and had not been updated since 1996 when my grandfather passed away and found me Bethania's contact with the National Cemetery Assocation. Along with updating records, he also wanted the cemetery information to be available on-line. That's where I stumbled upon findagrave.com. I feel that this is a very useful resource and I have a feeling that I'll be contributing information even after my term of service in the Minnesota Reading Corps is complete. =]
