I was born on grandma's farm north west of Boscobel, WI on 24 Dec. 1946. It was a stormy night on the 23rd and I was born about 5:30AM on the 24th. That night the family celebrated Christmas Eve and the next day was my parents first anniversary!
We moved to Beloit about two years later. We frequently visited family in Richland county. I loved the farm. I spent some summers there helping my cousin who had no sons old enough to help. I tried to get my dad to a neighboring farm but he remembered how much hard work it was as a kid. He didn't have any machinery to help him back then.
So except for those summers I grew up in the city. After high school I was drafted and spent two years in the army, one in Vietnam. I came home, married my sweetheart and we have been together now for 40 years!! She should receive a medal. We have two grown sons, four precious grandchildren and a little house in the country with three acres. I like to ride my Harley when I can and take photos, and I took lessons on the organ. We had a nice garden last year for the first time since 2002. Lots of fresh food.
