Hi! Please feel free to use any pictures I may have posted. I do not "Own" them :) Quite frankly I don't understand people that take pictures of graves then balk when people use them! Especially when the picture taker is not even related to that person! (The bigger question is, the person that paid for that headstone technically owns it, so shouldn't we have to ask that person if we can take a picture? Also,Why do we as picture takers have more rights to that headstone then the family of the deceased? and the biggest wonder of all- why do you even want to OWN the picture of a headstone? its not like its worth money! In order to stop this selfish practice, if you do not freely share your pictures then Do NOT share mine! I hereby revoke above previously given permission! -ok off my soap box)
I feel pictures are a way to preserve the headstones so that the person is not forgotten. In fact, I take most of my pictures of stones that are in disrepair and will not be around much longer in order to preserve history and help those with genealogy. We as Contributors are a preserver of history, If we did not photograph these headstones they would be lost forever! SO in order to ensure history is preserved please use these pictures wherever you want to, In fact the more posts the better! (unless as stated above you are a meany and do not share)

Also, I try my best to take good pictures but sometimes the sun, weather, and headstone condition makes a good shot impossible. thank you for your understanding!

If requesting a grave in Dover, please contact Dover cemetery and ask for plot number.Info here:http://www.dover.nh.gov/cspdf/cemetery.pdf These cemetery's are HUGE and it is like looking for a needle in a haystack. If you email me the plot the location I will photograph it for you.

Calvary in Portland has digitalized almost all the burials link here: http://portlanddiocese.net/genealogy
on older plots, it is not unusual to have relatives buried with strangers and missing headstones, the older part of this cemetery is in disrepair due to natural land erosion and squirrels and woodchucks.
