Find a Grave ID

Bio

I have been interested in genealogy since the 1970's, and research my own family lines. I am not originally from Southeast Texas, but have lived here since 1980. I became interested in the burials at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor, TX when I had to bury 4 members of my own family there. I am interested in helping other people learn more about their families who are buried there, by posting any updated information that I may come across [ headstone/grave markings, obits, etc.]. I retired, after 20+ years, in February 2020, and will post as time permits, so check out the cemetery often. Del Rose is the only cemetery that I have canvassed, and check for new burials often. A NOTE ABOUT THE DEL ROSE CEMETERY... this cemetery appears to not have formal straight rows of graves, and is almost hap-hazard... making it difficult to locate, and notate, the grave sites. There are places that seem to have no graves... but in my research, I believe that there are quite a few unmarked graves there.... I have found death records for burials there, with no markers found. There are many old temporary markers for burials... sometimes they get replaced by a permanent marker... and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they just rust away, or get moved, or destroyed, during the mowing season. Sometimes the flat markers get run over and cracked... or sink. So bear this in mind when searching for graves there. It is a mixture of flat markers, and upright markers.
