I have been doing family research for only 3 years but have learned so much and met so many new cousins. When I began I knew virtually nothing about my own grandfather or the family that came before him. I now know that the John Michael Altman family came over from Bonnigheim, Germany and settled in Frederick, Maryland. My maternal line of Fiedorowicz came over from Poland and landed at Ellis Island. They settled in Detroit, Michigan. Additional family lines include: Wolf and Tisler in Detroit, Michigan and Gaston/Ratliff in Texas. Thank you to everyone who volunteers to help in the search.
