The goal of my life is to help people wherever I go and in whatever I do. To use tools from my IT experience and my Theological training to make an impact in the lives that I come in contact with. I want people to know I was here and have better lives because of it. And one of the areas I focus on is my local Police and Fire Fighters and EMTs. It all started on 9/11/08. Something really hit me. I'd realized, like a lot of Americans on 9/11/2001, that our officers and fire fighters are our heroes. But, I think a lot of Americans have forgotten that in the few passing years. Officers ARE heroes, and should be told so. So that's when I decided to call the HHPD and see if someone could let the on-duty officers know that. To my amazement, I was the first to call and offer thanks to them. So that day I started my mission: To make sure that no officer/fire fighter in my area will work through a holiday and not know that they are appreciated and supported by someone in their area. So I started getting email addresses to Chiefs of Police and Fire Chiefs to send a holiday email to. Over the last few months I've talked with dozens of officers and fire fighters who had not had a direct act of appreciation. Some had worked over 30 years. That won't happen again, not on my watch.
