Bio

Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Am 59 years old, Married, wife and 32 year-old step-daughter(somewhere in Tenn. or Ala. don't really know). I found out through ancestor searching that my maternal grandfather's family are one of the first Pioneer families to settle northern Polk county, back in the 1830's. The name they had when migrating from Indiana was Howard. Then my grt-grt-Aunt married in IN before coming to Iowa first, to get the land ready for the rest of the family members. Her married name was Saylor. They founded what is now Saylorville. Back then it was known as Saylor's Grove. Later female marriages have included the names of Wheeler, West, Gray, McQuiston, Cree, Cockerham, Atkinson, Figenbaum, Lane, Davis, Lewis, and the list goes on. Most of these immediate families were in the area in the mid to late 1800's.
