I got started in genealogy about 5 years ago when, while talking to my mother, I realized that she and her siblings never knew their father. He was killed in a car accident when my mother was 4, her sister was 2, and her brother was only 6 months old. What started out as interest in who my grandfather was has turned into chopping down trees and vines to get a better picture of a headstone. I still have much to learn and not nearly enough time to devote to my obsession.
