Lived and went to school in Belmont, MS from Grade 1 - 12. In the late 90's got interested in genealogy. So many of my family members are buried at Salem Cemetery in Itawamba County, MS. Found a compilation done in 1971, I believe, in the library in Fulton, MS of Salem Cemetery. I realized so many had died and there was no other recording at that time for the cemetery, Some of my genealogy contacts suggested I gather an updated list and post to Find-a-Grave. I would stop after work or work on this project on Saturdays. It has been a labor of love. I also have many of my family buried at The Ridge. I am trying to connect how each person is related in Salem Cemetery to my family. It is truly a family cemetery as well as a community cemetery.
