Bio

PROVENCHER, Richard J., Jr. (Richard J.(5), Fred J., Jr.(4), Frederick J.(3), Joseph-Emmonulle(2), Calixte(1)). After retiring with 21 years active duty, I have spent the last few years researching my family ancestry, in particular, the Provenchers of Thompsonville, CT. Along the way, I have received considerable help from my cousin (more like my uncle) John F. Malley (Claire(4), Frederick J.(3), Joseph-Emmonulle(2), Calixte(1))who has taken a particular interest and who has been "bitten by the bug" along with me. The old family photos are coutesy of John and his wife, Carol. Most information has been acquired from old U.S. Federal Census Reports and John's research at local libraries and town halls. Most of the internments posted are ancestors related to me in one way or the other from both my father's side (Thompsonville) and my mother's (Stafford Springs, Rockville, Broad Brook). If you find that you have a common interest in a family member posted, please, feel free to contact me so as to share any information and pictures. I am always updating the family tree and will be happy to pass on a copy of what I have to date. Also, if you find any errors with my postings or have additional information for bios, I will be happy to update or correct any information posted. What a wonderful site!

Families I'm researching:

Thompsonville, CT: Provencher; Fortin; Simoneau; Boudreau; DeCaro; Scavotto; Malley
Rockville, CT: Petig; Schaffer(Schaeffer)
Stafford Springs, CT: Ungewitter; Sullivan; Girard; Scott
Broad Brook, CT: Ungewitter
