Eric Kammermann is from Fairbury, Livingston County, Illinois and has been involved in the Marine Industry for over 30 years. Starting in the U.S. Coast Guard his duties included, Officer in Charge, Underway Duty Officer, Boating Safety Inspector and Instructor, Coxswain and Surfman small boat certifications, major and minor Aids to Navigation certifications. Upon discharge Eric became a licensed Captain on Passenger Carrying Vessels up to 100 gross tons. He has numerous hours underway on the all the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, ICW, Illinois and Mississippi Rivers. As VP and General Manager of the Beaver Island Navigation Company and General Manager of the Beaver Island Boat Company he continued to further his knowledge of the Marine Industry. Working with U.S. Coastal Development of Charlevoix, MI he assisted in the development of Northwest Marine Yacht Basin in Charlevoix, MI, Fairport West Yacht Club in Charlevoix, MI, Duncan Bay Boat Club in Cheboygan, MI and Prairie Harbor Yacht Club in Pleasant Prairie, IL. His knowledge and expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of de-icing systems is sought after by marine operators through out the Great Lakes. He has successfully managed or provided training to marinas in Illinois, Wisconsin, and 5 marinas in Michigan. His community involvement has included, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce. As a nationally licensed soccer coach he has spent countless hours donating his time as a coach and referee with local youth and high school teams and groups. Eric has been associated with Northwest Marine Yacht Basin for over 20 years.

He has been involved in genealogy since 1998. He authored a book about the Kammermann Family from Switzerland and had an article published in the Swiss Historical Society Review.
