Betty A. Allison Shelton, 75

East Liverpool - Betty A. Allison Shelton, of Glenmoor, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, surrounded by her family at the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was 75. A lifetime area resident, she was born in Chester Oct. 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Harry B. and Beulah M. Allison. She was a member of the Wellsville High School Class of 1955 and later graduated from the Ohio Valley Business College as well as the Lewis Weinberger and Hill Beauty Academy. For over 20 years, she owned and operated Betty's Beauty Boutique on Broadway Street in East Liverpool. Faith and family were very important in her life. She attended Kathryn Kuhlman Ministries in Youngstown for many years which later evolved into what is now Emmanuel Community Church in Canfield where she was a charter member. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 56 years, Denver L. Shelton, who survives at home. The couple married Nov. 17, 1956. There are two sons, Steve T. Shelton, and his wife Christine, of Liberty, Ohio, and Jim K. Shelton, and his wife Alison, of Uniontown, Ohio. She spent many hours spoiling her five grandchildren: Kerri, Patrick, Kevin, Kyle and Cameron Shelton. A brother survives as well, Charles N. Allison, and his wife Nellie, of Wellsville. Friends may visit Friday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor John Hutchinson of the church will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for food and fellowship.
