Earl Hagler Sollenbarger was the son of David Thomas 1865-1943) and Sadie (1872-1965) Sollenbarger. He was born in Cordon, Iowa on January 20, 1904. Earl went to the University of Iowa where he graduated in 1928 and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta social fraternity.
He married Florence Gwendolyn Jones (1906-197) in 1933. They had two children, Susan and Tom.
Like his father, Earl was a banker. He began his career in 1929 as an examiner for the Federal Reserve, was a banking officer for several small Chicago land banks, and retired as a State of Illinois bank examiner.
