While in Ketchum, he worked in the Ketchum Post Office for 18 years. operated the Sloan General Store from 1932 to 1946, and was president of the First State Bank of Ketchum from 1934 to 1945. He later owned and operated a motel in Dennison, Texas from 1946 to 1952. At that time he moved to Vinita.
Survivors include a son, Alfred L. Sloan of Joplin, Mo.; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
