MAJOURAU, Richard - Born December 20, 1920, in Redwood City. At peace June 6, 2003. Beloved husband and father. Avid angler and conservationist. Life member of the California Wildlife Federation, United Anglers of California, and the Fishery Foundation of California. Active member of numerous rod and gun clubs. Through the San Francisco Tyee Club, his expert testimony in many cases involving pollution and destruction of fishing habitats provided funding for the raising and releasing of salmon and bass in the San Francisco Bay. He was also a supporter of Penny Pines -- an organization that planted memorial pines to reforest devastated wooded areas, and he was active in the effort to revive Lake Merced's water supply. He was also an active member of the International Footprinters Association, Chapter #1. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army Air Corps 3rd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron as an Engineer Mechanic. It was during this tour of duty he proudly supported operations to map the island of Japan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Lora; his brother, Paul, and is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Steven; nephew, Gary Majourau; nieces, Judy Brown, and Kirsten Crosson; and numerous relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service and Burial on Thursday, June 12, 2003, beginning at 2:45pm at Skylawn Memorial Park, Route 35 at Highway 92, in San Mateo.
