While stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio he met Gabrielle Ann White, daughter of Ralph Newton and Irene Moore White. Jim and Ann were married on December 30, 1961, in Kerrville, Texas. To their union, a daughter Susan, and sons, Terence and Daniel were born. While in the military, most of their married life was spent at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and Lackland in Texas.
After he retired from the armed forces in 1971, the family moved to Grand Prairie. Jim began a second career, this time with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after another 25 years. Jim lived a useful life and gladly gave service to his country.
He was a kind man, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. With his family by his side, he lost his battle with cancer on December 31, 1999. Left to mourn his passing, Ann, his wife of 38 years; sons Terence and wife, Danielle Griffin, Daniel and wife, Darlene Griffin; and daughter Susan and husband, Charles Roberts; granddaughters Alexandra and Samantha, along with many a good friend, and extended family. Granddaughter Elissa and grandsons Zachary and Evan were born after his passing.
