Nickanor "Nick" A. Aragón, age 62 of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday October 27, 2012.
Nick was born on November 6, 1949 in Cubero, NM to the late Manuel and Vivian Aragón.
Nick was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving with the United States Army and retired after 20 years of service to his country.
Nick was a former member and altar boy of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Cubero, NM and a proud god father of six.
Survivors include his daughters, Selene Aragón and Rachael Gutiérrez and her husband, Albert, granddaughter, Nevaeh Aragón and grandson, Favian Aragón and his wife, Kirsten, children, Nick Aragón Jr. and Amada Pagan, ten additional grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his wife of ten years, Alice Aragón, the mother of his children, Tina Aragón, several brothers, sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, as well as his fellow colleagues during the Vietnam Era.
Nick was preceded in death by several family members and numerous colleagues during the Vietnam Era.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Salazar and Sons Mortuary. A Rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday November 4, 2012 at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, Cubero, NM, 60 miles west of Albuquerque, Exit 104 Cubero / Budville, please look for Red and White streamers to the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Monday November 5, 2012 at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cubero Cemetery. Pallbearers will be United States Army Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Aragón, Robert Aragón, Carl Aragón, Patrick Hrubenski, Korey Robles and Mary Dodge.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Pamela Aragón, Michelle Aragón and Sol Amor Hospice Nurse Janaska for all their support given to him.
