He was a retired farmer. He served on the board of directors of the Sharpsburg Bank and later on the advisory board of the Sharpsburg Office of the First National Bank. He was a life-member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Bakersville. He was a 50-year member of the Eureka Lodge 105 A.F.&A.M., of Sharpsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Eakle Remsburg; daughter, Catherine R. Ruby, Sharpsburg; sister, Agnes L. Getting, Keedysville; and one grandson.
Services were held at the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
