___Quietly and peacefully last night at 6 o'clock passed to rest one who has for over fifty years been a resident of this city, being nearly ninety years of age.
___Mrs. Harriet Pratt, widow of the late Daniel Pratt, was born in Colchester, Conn., in 1806, and with her husband came to this, then village, in 1842. Since that time she has been a member of the First Presbyterian church, of which she was the oldest member at the time of her death. Of a cheerful disposition and happy nature she preserved her sense of humor and interest in friends and family until the hour of her death. Her wholly unselfish nature and desire to do for others was known to all her friends. Her charity was unostentatious, her disposition retiring, and her life happy to the last and a comfort to family and friends.
___She is survived by her son, Daniel R. Pratt, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, the youngest of whom, six weeks old, she lived to see. It is given to few to live a life so long and peaceful, to leave behind a name which speaks so much good. The daily reading, which hung on her wall at her death, expressed the hope in which she passed away.
___"Fear thee not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness."∼married in Marlborough CT 18 Sep 1828 to Daniel Pratt; died from a fractured hip
