Sybil Marguerite Dubroc Lamartiniere Bordelon, age 97, passed away at her home on Sunday October 28, 2012. A rite of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday October 30 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward with Father Silverino Kwebuza officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Cemetery, Fifth Ward, Avoyelles Parish, La. Arrangements are under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward. Visitation will be on Monday 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday 8:30 to 10:00 am at Kramer of Fifth Ward.

Sybil Dubroc Lamartinere Bordelon, a daughter given by the lord to Leah Bonnette and St. James "Sam" Dubroc was born on March 20, 1915. She was the youngest of ten children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and wife. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Lamartiniere; first husband of 37 years Clury Alfred Lamartiniere, and later by her second husband, August Bordelon; and eight brothers and sisters: Isabella Bonnette, Anita Brouiette, Sampson Dubroc, Andy Smith, Anderson Dubroc, Pauline Lachney, Dora Guillory and Doralice Blanchard. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons and wives, Louis Joseph Lamartiniere (Shirley) and Coral Alfred Lamartiniere (D.D.), five grandchildren (Kathrine Negrotto (Brian), Randy Lamartiniere (Debra), Phillip Lamartiniere (Janis), Maria Difulco (Joey) and Martine Lamartiniere, and 4 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Sybil was a devote Catholic and long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and Alter Society. She was an excellent cook and hard worker. She loved helping with the grandchildren and tending to her flowers. She was a compassionate Christian who encouraged love and understanding within the family and her large family of friends.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lamartiniere, Phillip Lamartiniere, Darrell Dubroc, Marc Dubroc, Ted Dubroc, Brian Negrotto, Joey Difulco and Pierre Bernard.

The Lamartiniere family would like to thank her unofficially adopted daughters who provided great and loving care in her home, Barbara Dupuy, Nell Ducote, Frankie Doucet, Brandie Breeland, Wendy Dauzat, Veronica Juneau, Laurette Reynolds, Joann Dauzat, and Emilee Laborde, and All Saints Hospice, especially Jennifer Faul and Linda Murray .
