OBITUARY
Alvin C. McKoon, 90, of Fort Madison, IA, and formerly of Canyon Lake, TX, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:10 a.m. at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA. He was born on February 4, 1921 in Niota, IL to Clarence A. & Marguerite Seigrist [sic, Siegrist] McKoon. He married Regina H. Luehlfing on February 19, 1946 in New Braunfels, TX. He was a mechanic and farmer most of his life and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of the Nauvoo Presbyterian Church and a life member of the VFW in Wimberley, TX. Alvin is survived by: his wife: Regina McKoon of Canyon Lake, TX; 2-daughters; 1-son; 10-grandchildren; 14-great grandchildren; 2-brothers: Carl McKoon of Dallas TX & [living] and 1-sister. He was preceded in death by his parents & 1-sister: Margaret Nelson. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 with the family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be held in Appanoose Cemetery in rural Niota, IL with military rites performed by the Fort Madison Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Alzheimers Association and contributions may be left at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
