Wilma L. LaGasse
Devoted wife and mother loved her flowers
Wilma L. LaGasse, age 74, 3654 Talanca Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 10:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Balanced Care At Bloomsburg nursing facility where she resided for two years.
Born in Bloomsburg, on Sept. 16, 1938, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Gertrude A. (Runyan) Richart. Her early life was spent in Bloomsburg, and she later resided in Kingston, N.Y., before returning to live in Almedia in 1980.
She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg.
Wilma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and especially loved her flowers and working outside at her home.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph L. LaGasse, with whom she celebrated her 58th wedding anniversary on Sept. 29, 2012; eight children: Susan, wife of Michael Horvers, Kingston, N.Y.; Joseph L. LaGasse and his wife, Janet, Cheryl, wife of Ralph Cogswell, Barry L. LaGasse, Andrea, wife of Randy Sink, all of Berwick; Craig S. LaGasse, Danville; Marlin J. LaGasse, Bloomsburg; Tara LaGasse and her companion, Alan Grover, Berwick; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Shirley Foust, Florida; Chester E. Richart and his wife, Gloria, and Anita, wife of Daniel Peckne, all of Bloomsburg; Patricia Hopper, Royersford; Sharon Long and Dennis Richart and his wife, Mary, Bloomsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by two sisters: Julia Miller and Audrey Eichner; and by three brothers: Eugene Runyan; William C. Richart; and Marlin E. "Moe" Richart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg, by her pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m.
