Raymond Edward Ashley, 80, of Milano, died on Friday, December 2, 1988, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron, the Rev. Bill Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.

Mr. Ashley was born on February 3, 1908, in Milano, Texas, to the late Monroe Eugene and Mary Matilda Reese Ashley. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Gause Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Verlie Ashley, of Milano; daughter, Kathy Darling, of Milano; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Reese Ashley, of Milano; sisters, Alpha Gans, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Lorene Connor, of Huntsville; other relatives and many friends.
