ANHEUSER-VAN LOM WEDDING
Miss Katherine Van Lom United in Marriage to F. W. Anheuser.
A wedding which has received considerable attention in the Nebraska daily newspapers as well as several of the dailies in Chicago and St. Louis was that of Mr. Frederick William Anheuser, of Omaha, and Miss Katherine Wilhelmina Van Lom of David City, on Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock in St. Mary Magdalene church in Omaha.
Several hundred persons were witnesses of the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Father Sinne. Those going from David City to attend the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Eiting and children, Mrs. John Whetzel, Misses Josephine Brochtrup, Elizabeth Daniels, Mae Delaney, Henrietta Knott, Minnie Machurek and Mabel Zentz and little Miss Jeremita Kelly.
The bride was beautifully gowned in ivory white satin charmeuse draped en traine with overdress of brocaded chiffon, embroidered in pearls, with trimming of Irish lace. A wreath of bride's roses held the long tulle veil in place and she carried a shower of white Killarney roses. The groom's gift to the bride was a diamond necklace.
Miss Julia Anheuser, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and wore pink chiffon taffeta with overdress of pink chiffon with bands of the same material in her hair. She carried pink Killarney roses.
Mrs. Howard Watkins, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a gown of yellow chiffon taffeta designed like the dress worn by Miss Anheuser. She caried Mrs. Ward roses.
Of the four bridesmaids, three were David City young ladies. They were Misses Henrietta Knott, Mable Zentz and Elizabeth Daniels of David City and Miss Anna Anheuser of Omaha. The bridesmaids wore gowns designed alike with double flounce effect made of Canton crepe and trimmed with shadow lace. Misses Knott's and Anheuser's gowns were of pink and Misses Zentz's and Daniels' of yellow. They all carried shower boquets of roses.
Three nieces of the bride took part. Little Miss Margaret Eiting of David City was ring-bearer and the little Misses Lorene Rising of Kansas City and Oda Eiting of David City were flower girls.
At 6 o'clock a wedding dinner was served at the Paxton hotel, covers being laid for 50 persons.
On Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Anheuser left to Lake Okoboji and Isle Royal on a honeymoon trip and after September 1 will be at home at 1111 South Thirty-sixth street in Omaha.
The bride, a daughter of Mrs. Margaret Van Lom, was born and raised in Butler county. She is a graduate of the David City high school, has attended the state normal school in Kearney and taught school in Butler county two years.
The groom is city prosecuting attorney of Omaha. He is a nephew of the late Adolphus Busch of St. Louis and a cousin of the late Aberhardt Anheuser of St. Louis. By the will of his uncle he was given $50,000 upon condition that he be married within a year.
