EDWARD W. ALKEK
Edward William Alkek, 69, of 604 Bramblebush, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday in a local hospital following a long illness.
He was born May 29, 1916, in Victoria to the late Sam and Bertha Chukar Alkek. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Donald Blavier officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Funeral Home chapel on Red River Street.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. M. Jane Marts Alkek of Victoria; two daughters, Mrs. Diane Kneupper and Cheri Brown, both of Point Comfort; a son, Keith Alkek of Victoria; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Lewis of Vicroria; a brother, David Alkek of Victoria; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Gary Alford, Joe Cinotti, Jimmy Rouse, Gene Migura, Ed Duenow and Bill Erwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Dusek, Tom Land, Charley Levy, George Hyak, Walt Nicol and Richard Dick.
In lieu of usual remembrances contributions may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
