Suzi Bettinghouse, 62, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2012. Though she showed tremendous courage and strength, the strong will that carried her through years of declining health finally brought her home to God as she passed away while surrounded by her loving family. Suzi was born in London, England to parents Mike and Sandy Wigley on November 1, 1949. She married her devoted husband, Doug Bettinghouse, in Utah on September 20, 1975. Doug and Suzi brought their family to Richland, WA in 1990 where Suzi worked as a homemaker raising two daughters. She enjoyed hobbies such as cooking, sewing, gardening, photography, and quilting. Suzi's greatest joy was spending time with her 5 grandchildren, Lincoln (5), Liam (3), Elaine (3), Audrey (1), and Knox (2 weeks), who will miss their cherished grandma dearly. Doug and Suzi enjoyed vacationing together on the sandy beaches of Mexico. Suzi was also an active member of Columbia Community Church, where she treasured the special relationships she developed with her small group and the ladies from her women's bible study. Suzi recently re-affirmed her relationship with Jesus Christ, as she was baptized in the Columbia River on August 26, 2012.

Suzi is survived by her husband of 37 years, Doug Bettinghouse; daughter Nikki Marcum and husband Craig; daughter Jessica Nolte and husband Chris; 5 beloved grandchildren; sister Juliet Kobus and husband David; nieces Samantha Gregory and Tara Gilbert, and their children. Suzi was preceded in death by her parents Mike and Sandy Wigley.

A memorial service will be held at Columbia Community Church, 150 Gage Blvd., Richland, on November 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
