Bernice K. Rice, 94, of Carmi died June 26, 2001 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center.
She was born March 3, 1907 in Crossville, the daughter of Robert Porterfield and Nora (Hon) Kinney. She married Clarence Rice on May 13, 1925, and he preceded her in death in May 1985.
Survivors include one son and daughter in law, John K. and Janet Rice of Carmi; one daughter and son in law, Rebecca R. and David Stanley of Carmi; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Reynolds and Violet Neeley, and one brother, Robert Kinney.
Burial will be in Big Prairie Cemetery near Carmi.
