Harold E. Opfer, 84, of LaGrange, died Saturday in his home. The Lorain County Coroner will rule on the cause of death.
Born in LaGrange, he was a lifelong resident.
He was formerly employed by General Industries, Elyria, as a spray painter, retiring in 1969.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Opfer, and one son, Glenn, both of LaGrange, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, in 1981; one sister and four brothers.
Family requests no visitation with graveside funeral services at LaGrange Cemetery scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday with Father Robert R. Vieweg, pastor of Emmaculate Conception Church, Grafton, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hurricane Andrew Fund through the organization of the donor's choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Blackburn Funeral Home, Grafton.
