MAXINE ELIZABETH AMOS-TIMMONS, age 93, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2012, in the comfort of her home.

Maxine was born on May 11, 1919 to the union of the late Frank and Edna Ferguson. She was a graduate of Columbus West High School, where she was the only African American female, Valedictorian, and graduated 3rd in her class. After 33 years of service she retired from Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company's where she was a Supervisor. Maxine loved music and her church, First Church of God.

Preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Herbert Timmons, son Wendall Eugene Ferguson, brothers Kenneth Ferguson and Stanley (Jack) Ferguson. Surviving to cherish her memory, her loving son, Stanley (Valerie) Landrum; granddaughter, Sheneise Landrum; grandson, Arron (Mia) Landrum; great-grandchildren, Tylaisha Landrum, Arronte' Landrum, and Taron Leftwitch; sister-in-law, Blanch Ferguson; brother-in-law, Harold (Betty) Timmons; nieces, nephews, and, caregivers, Jim (Angie) Dean.

Funeral 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at First Church of God, 3480 Refugee Road. Bishop Timothy Clarke, Officiant. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
