Louise Holloway, of Wagoner, died Tuesday, October 5, 1993, at her home, after a lengthy illness. She was 83 years of age.

She was born the daughter of John and Jane Inez (Thames) Humphrey in Wilburton, Oklahoma on August 29, 1910.

Holloway enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to fish, but most of all, she loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family was very important to her. She received her early education in Henryetta, Oklahoma and later married Carl Holloway. They were married for 65 years before her death on Tuesday.

They have had a cabin north of Wagoner since the 1950's. She attended the Central Assembly of God in Tulsa and in 1970 she and her husband moved to Wagoner, where they made their home on the lake in their retirement years.

She was preceded in death by her parents: two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by: her husband, Carl, of the home; one daughter, Wanda Shurtleff and her husband Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Florene Duer of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Bernice Caudle of Bixby, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Jody Lea McBride and her husband Brian, of Tulsa; one great-granddaughter, Kjersti Jo McBride of Tulsa; one niece, several nephews and a host of friends.

Services were held October 7, 1993, at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma with the Reverend Jim Williams officiating. Interment followed at the Stilwell Cemetery in Stilwell, Oklahoma; also known as New Hope Cemetery.
