Lloyd E. Finch, aged 88, of Caledonia, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. He was born February 24, 1923 in Perrysburg, OH. Lloyd was a member of Company C, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star medal for gallantry in action on Luzon. He was a meat buyer for Spartan Stores for many years. Preceding him in death are his 14 sisters and brothers. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Jane A. (Storts) Finch; sons, Steven L. (Donna) Finch, Neal A. Finch; a daughter, Lory E. (Dean) Battermann; granddaughters, Kelly M. Battermann, and Dayna M. Battermann. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Cornerstone Church, 1675 84th St. SE, with Pastor Brad Kalajainen officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warrior Project, or Cornerstone Church.
