Services Held Friday For Jim Franklin, 74

Jim Franklin, 74, well known resident of this county, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home at Concord Wednesday morning, January 26. Born August 27, 1880 in this county, he was the son of the late Abraham and Cynthia Webb Franklin. He was a retired miner and farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1938. Surviving are five sons, Con Franklin, Fairborn, Ohio; Tommy Franklin, Ashland; Everett James and Edgar Franklin, all of Thealka; one daughter, Nora E. Franklin, Thealka; two sisters, Nervie Delong, city and Mahala Hall, Martin County. Funeral services were held Friday at the home of Everett Franklin with the Revs. Horiner Willis and J. H. Short officiating. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Concord under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
