Obediah Milton Dixon was adopted by Elliot and Sally Gardner Dixon sometime before 18 Jul 1840. In 1850, he lived with William and Frances Lamb working as a gunsmith. Obed Milton Dixon was married by a bond dated 11 Nov 1850 in Guilford Co, NC, to Abigail Adaline Beard. They came soon thereafter to Henry Co., IN, where he farmed for over 30 years.

Ovid (sic) Dixon died at his homem, two miles south of Kennard, August 14, of cancer, aged 73 years. Funeral at residence, 10 a.m. August 16. Interment at Greensboro."
